Is whole life insurance a good investment?

In my opinion, as an investment, life insurance is never a good choice. If you want to cash a life policy during your lifetime, the cash-out value of your policy will only give you a miserable return.
I am not an expert but whole life is not an investment. It's a protection product with tons of benefits. I recommend you get your policy through a mutual company. Mutual companies are owned by the policy owners, and any surplus goes back to the policy owners via dividends.
Whole life insurance is not a good investment and it’s not good insurance. The 2 should not be combined. I would recommend purchasing term life insurance. Assuming you do not have any serious health problems you will be able to purchase more insurance coverage for less money. If you have big health issues this will limit you with whole life insurance anyways.
Hi ! I recently investigated this quite a bit.... I had both whole and life at the time. After really looking into it, I couldn't find a single organism that recommended whole life....except people and companies that sell whole life !!! Bottom line was that it's a terrible investment compared to the stock market, mutual funds, real estate....its loaded with fees that eat the returns… so if you are looking to protect your family in the event that you die etc, term life is far superior and way cheaper.
Thank you for all your comments. I will investigate more options.
I'm sorry I had to laugh this is the funniest ever chat. Â Are you crazy? Â The only reason anyone would take out full life insurance is if they were planning to fake their own death or their spouse really hated them a la Dallas or Dynasty and was planning to bump them off in the night! Â Thanks for the laugh guys
Excuse me, but this is an open forum where people should feel comfortable enough to ask any question about investment they like without being trolled by the likes of you. Â Brittapete was asking for advice not ridicule. Â We gave her advice according to our own experiences. Â Admin, please remove this person
Keep your knickers on I is no one realistic on here?
Please take yourself and your comments elsewhere that was hurtful and not at all in the spirit of this forum.
Brittapete did you indeed start your investment juorney?
Yes I did! Â Thank you for asking, I actually started as a beginner on the stock markets! Â Only small time, but I am learning a lot and most importantly I am enjoying it.
That's great news!
This is interesting because I was actually about to ask if anyone had any advice on whole life insurance as we were talking about it  the other night.  Ah so it's not a great idea I'm guessing??!!
Haha it seems not!!
