Plant-based or vegan investing has become a thing in the US, with firms such as Impossible Foods which is back by Bill Gates and Google, disrupting the market, does anyone have any previous with this topic?

I am not currently invested but i think you bring a very good point to the table so to speak.  As technology is improving all the time and veganism is becoming a thing as you say i think it’s a good idea.

Thank you.  Veganism is getting bigger and bigger due to the health benefits.  Does anyone have any advice as to the right firms to invest in? I thought if Bill Gates is an investor, I could do a lot worse!

I am no FA, but I agree.  Sound topic and sound company, although they do use GM technology which may not be too popular.  You have the likes of Just etc but it depends whether you want just vegan, or non-animal meat (sorry the science totally baffles me).  I would ask your FA to diversify you.

I don’t agree with diversifying.  This is a new market so opt for the most secure.

Research.  All the new(ish) companies have pros and cons so you are better off with the bigger ones in an emerging market.

Ok I thought that too

Right everyone advice please on this:  my friends and I were talking about it last night as we have all decided on 1st Jan to do Veganuary together.  The vegan industry in the UK certinaly is going through the roof with influencers all over it.  All the 'cool' people are vegan and while I find vegans annoying (I am one right now and its killing me) I see that certainly its a massive market and one to get into now before its too late.  Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions becasue I am not sure what angle to take to be honest as there are so many.

I actually invested in a science company who develop the vegan ingredients at ground level, GM-free etc and am seeing a steady growth however I think it really matters that you are investing in the aspect of the topic you are interested in.  I am a bit of a tech nerd, so that side of the indusrty suits me.  However you mention influencers so I would suggest you looked at more of the marketing side of things and see which companies float your boat?

Good point I hadn't thought of it that way.

I would maintain what I said before and look at bigger companies as its still an emerging market and you don't want to be swallowed up

I completely disagree.  It is not an emerging market.  It is not at all new it is mainstream and the only way you're going to get good new deals is investing in new companies bringing out even more innovative products.

A rookie error

I am not a rookie

Yes but how can I get into it?

I would look at the most innovative on the market and go from there.  Maybe even vlog your own experience?
